LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliated carriers select Sabre technology to unify its passenger reservations

TAM’s migration to SabreSonic CSS will represent the largest ever passenger reservations system implementation for the Latin American commercial aviation industry.

SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, and SANTIAGO, CHILE – LATAM Airlines Group S.A., the leading airline group in Latin America, have selected Sabre Corporation as the technology provider for its combined reservation system, in addition to delivering integrated software to transform the way the airlines operate.

In 2012, LAN Airlines’ and its respective affiliates implemented the SabreSonic Customer Sales & Service (CSS) passenger reservation system. As part of this new agreement, Brazil-based TAM Airlines will migrate to the SabreSonic CSS technology, creating a unified reservation system for the entire airline group.

This is a significant technology enhancement for the airline group, which  spans LAN Airlines in Chile and its affiliates in Peru, Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador, as well as TAM Airlines in Brazil and its affiliates. As a result of their 2012 association, the airline group currently manages more than 67 million annual passengers across an expanding network of flights covering 135 destinations.

Enrique Cueto, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group, said: “The growth strategy of the group is based on driving a highly differentiated passenger experience, with consistency and operational efficiency across the entire network. Sabre’s technology is an essential factor to successfully achieving this goal.”

Tom Klein, President and CEO of Sabre Corporation, said: “LATAM Airlines Group is one of the world’s largest and most successful airline groups, and Sabre is proud to expand our relationship as one of their key technology providers.”

In addition to using SabreSonic CSS, LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliates will leverage seamless integration of Sabre’s commercial planning, revenue integrity and network design solutions, enabled by Sabre’s AirVision portfolio. A comprehensive suite of integrated operational solutions for crew and airport management, flights schedule and operations will also be available through Sabre’s AirCentre technology portfolio.
