airberlin: winter menus above the clouds

In Business Class on long-haul flights from Germany, there are now four special winter dishes to choose from.

Duck breast in cranberry sauce, roast beef in porcini mushroom sauce with thyme-flavoured polenta and creamed cabbage, or pasta triangoli in creamy orange sauce with pumpkin cubes. These culinary treats are not only served in gourmet restaurants but also on board airberlin Business Class. “Now, from the start of the winter flight schedule, airberlin and the Sansibar have again created a selection of winter menus, which our guests can enjoy in Business Class on long-haul flights. We have also added some winter classics to the Sansibar menu on short and medium-haul flights”, says Thomas Ney, Senior Vice President Guest Experience airberlin.

In Business Class on long-haul flights from Germany, there are now four special winter dishes to choose from. These premium menus for airberlin Business Class guests have been created in partnership with the Sansibar restaurant. In Economy Class, guests on long-haul flights from Germany can choose between chicken breast with cranberry sauce, red cabbage with apples and potato puree, or a vegetarian pasta dish. What’s more, on airberlin long-haul flights in both Economy and Business Class, all food and alcoholic or soft drinks are included in the price.

As of now, the Sansibar gourmet menu for all short and medium-haul airberlin flights once again includes the popular winter classics duck breast in orange sauce served with a baked apple and almonds, and chicken in mustard leaf curry sauce. Sansibar gourmet menus can be pre-ordered for flights lasting more than 60 minutes. On flights lasting more than 90 minutes, guests can also decide spontaneously on board to choose from a smaller selection. Naturally, airberlin will continue to serve its guests a free snack or sandwich, depending on the duration of the flight, and a selection of soft drinks.

airberlin is one of the leading airlines in Europe and flies to 147 destinations worldwide. The second largest airline in Germany carried more than 33 million passengers in 2012. airberlin offers a global route network through its strategic partnership with Etihad Airways, which has a 29.21% share in airberlin, and through membership of the oneworld airline alliance.
