The alliance expands Airport Dimensions’ footprint into the Middle East and is marked by a joint win to launch a new lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
LONDON – As part of its global expansion drive, Airport Dimensions announces that it has entered into a new strategic partnership with National Aviation Services (NAS) to expand its airport lounge footprint into the Middle East.
The partnership is the start of a new long-term relationship between Airport Dimensions and NAS, which will bring together Airport Dimensions’ world class expertise in understanding the needs of travellers at airports, with NAS’ in-depth local knowledge of operating in the Middle Eastern region.
It is marked by the first joint win of a competitive tender to build a new independent airport lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport, an important global hub and travel gateway between Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
The lounge will be well situated within the airport, located in the new Midfield Terminal. Spanning over 3,500 square metres, it will also be the only lounge in the terminal providing access to independent travellers regardless of the airline they are flying with. This flagship location will offer travellers an experience that combines Middle Eastern hospitality with the world class facilities Abu Dhabi Airports is known for.
The new lounge launch lays the foundations for further joint ventures between Airport Dimensions and NAS in the region. It also adds to Airport Dimensions’ global lounge portfolio of 23 lounges, following the recent lounge opening at Gatwick South Airport in the UK, as well as San Jose, Jacksonville, Charleston and Las Vegas in the USA earlier this year.
Steve Pinches, CEO, Airport Dimensions, said: “We know that there’s increasing demand from travellers for premium, shared-use lounges, globally, and we’re excited to be working alongside NAS to ensure we provide a best-in-class experience for customers travelling in the Middle East. We are very proud to have secured the opportunity to deliver a new independent lounge at such an important global hub as Abu Dhabi and provide a place of sanctuary and comfort for all flyers passing through the new terminal.”
Hassan El Houry, Group CEO, NAS, said: “NAS is excited to join this strategic partnership with Airport Dimensions for the iconic Midfield Terminal lounge project. We share a long-standing partnership with Abu Dhabi Airports and this new award further strengthens our relationship. The Midfield Terminal is one of the world’s largest and a key milestone in the development of Abu Dhabi’s International Airport, a significant component in delivering on Plan Abu Dhabi 2030. As always, we remain committed to offering the best in terms of infrastructure development, talent, resources, technology, safety and security to help boost the aviation sector in Abu Dhabi.”
