Attica was presented as an international marine tourism destination at the 17th “East Med Yacht Show”

At the Region of Attica’s stand, the Directorate of Tourism’s team informed the public and the field’s professionals about Attica’s multiple competences as a short-break holiday destination throughout the year, placing emphasis on marine tourism.

Attica was promoted as an international marine tourism destination in this year’s 17th “East Med Yacht Show”, which was organised by the Hellenic Professional Yacht Owners Association (EPEST) and the Municipality of Piraeus, in co-operation with the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist and Travel Agencies (FedHATTA) and the Greek Professional Bare Boat Yacht Owners Association (SITESAP), at Marina Zeas in Piraeus, from the 3rd until the 6th of May, 2018.

For yet another year, the Region of Attica placed the exposition under its aegis, and actively participated in it, at Stand A28, presenting Attica as a tourism destination. More specifically, at the Region of Attica’s stand, the Directorate of Tourism’s team informed the public and the field’s professionals about Attica’s multiple competences as a short-break holiday destination throughout the year, placing emphasis on marine tourism.

During the opening ceremony of the 17th “East Med Yacht Show”, at Marina Zeas, the Regional Governor of Attica, Ms Rena Dourou, also referred to the establishment of Attica as a marine tourism destination.

In particular, during her welcome speech, she made, among others, the following statements: “The Region of Attica, for yet another year, places East Med Yacht Show under its aegis. This active support is anything but circumstantial, it is a strategic choice; namely, a choice concerning specifically the establishment of Attica as a marine tourism destination of international range and resonance.

Marine tourism presents Attica’s great challenge, since Attica complies with all the necessary prerequisites, such as an exceptional coastline and the islands of the Saronic Gulf, which can render it in an indispensable destination.”

The Region of Attica’s presence at the “East Med Yacht Show” was concluded with positive comments from plenty of visitors, who received printed information material and expressed great interest in visiting the Saronic islands, Attica’s beaches and the “Athenian Riviera” for their holidays.
