The average person does some digging before committing to an airfare. While there are various sites that promise the lowest fares, there’s a trick that even the savviest travelers might not know: VPNs. A VPN allows users to change their IP address to a different country.
To explore whether people can save money by changing their location, thebestvpn.com searched five round-trip flights from 20 different countries. Here’s a preview of what we learned:
- New York City to London: The cheapest flight was booked through Mexico ($377), while the most expensive flight was through Brazil ($971)
- Los Angeles to Toronto: The cheapest flight was booked through Canada ($404), while the most expensive flight was through the U.S. ($801)
- When flying from Seattle to Paris, an IP address from the U.K. offered the highest savings- $109 less compared to the U.S.
