Cologne Bonn – Europe’s chosen ‘Best Regional Airport’ for third time

Hitting a hat-trick before a home crowd at the renowned Skytrax World Airport Awards last night, Cologne Bonn landed first place in ‘Best Regional Airport Europe’ category once again.

Cologne Bonn Airport has been confirmed as Europe’s ‘Best Regional Airport’ for the third time in succession. Hitting a hat-trick before a home crowd at the renowned Skytrax World Airport Awards on March 16, Cologne Bonn landed first place in ‘Best Regional Airport Europe’ category once again.

Presented during Passenger Terminal EXPO, Cologne Bonn was recognised as the second best overall regional airport, being placed in an outstanding 19th position in all global airport categories.

The fact that we’ve been voted first place for the third time in a row makes us incredibly proud, especially as this prize is awarded by the general public, based on the opinions of passengers,” said a delighted Michael Garvens, Chairman of the Management Board, Cologne Bonn Airport. He added: “The Skytrax Award is a special accolade for the whole airport team and honours our employees, who do outstanding work here every day.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are the most coveted awards in aviation and are often called the ‘Industry Oscars’. Awarded in different categories, the results are based on a worldwide passenger survey carried out by Skytrax. In 2015, passengers around the world were asked about the performance of airports, from arrivals to departures, including service quality, family-friendliness and retail offerings.
