Concur supports growth in Europe with state-of-the-art datacentre

Travel and expense provider invests in new facilities to support the needs of growing client base.

LONDON – Concur, a leading integrated travel and expense provider, today announced its new datacentre in Europe. As part of its continued expansion and commitment to its customers in local markets, Concur has worked with datacentre provider partners to build a co-located datacentre with sites provisioned in France and the Netherlands.

Concur’s European datacentre represents a significant investment in state-of-the-art infrastructure, with the development offering a combination of public and private cloud hosting. The highly secure units and fully virtualised facilities in both The Netherlands and France allow Concur to better serve its growing client base within EMEA and host data in the most environmentally friendly manner. This project illustrates the company’s commitment to the needs of its customers based throughout Europe, who will now have the option to host their data locally.

The investment is an extension of Concur’s global cloud strategy, which brings the travel ecosystem together, to form the T&E cloud that creates a seamless, end-to-end experience for business travellers and companies. Over 30 cloud vendors partner with Concur at a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) level, to enrich the full breadth of unique application services that Concur offers across the travel and expense space, to its European customers. For example, Concur leverages the Application Programming Interface (API) of a VAT services provider to deliver subject matter expertise on compliance.  By offering the complete cloud stack – from software to platform and infrastructure – Concur can work with its partners across the globe to build compelling propositions that are tailored to regional market needs, for both the private and public sector.

Concur’s investment in Research and Development and technical expertise throughout Europe has provided the company with the talent, to build and co-locate the datacentre in collaboration with its specialist partners. A combined team of 55 people were involved in the project from across the company, while 16 permanent team members will oversee data management at the facilities on an on-going basis.

Isabel Montesdeoca, General Manager for Concur EMEA comments: “Concur appreciates just how important it is for companies to ensure their data is stored securely. We’ve invested significant resources into this new datacentre, specifically to meet the needs of our European customers and offer them peace-of-mind with regards to reliable, and local, data storage and access”.

“As an enabler of SaaS solutions, we know how important it is to build cloud infrastructure that is both globalised and localised,” said Steve Caniano, VP Hosting, Managed Applications and Cloud Solutions, AT&T Business Solutions. “We work closely with businesses such as Concur to host their applications as close to their user-base as possible so that, as they expand their global footprint, they are able to deliver the best experience to their customers.”
