Domodedovo opens the world of vegetarian cuisine

There were exclusive dishes such as Tabbouleh salad, vegetarian polenta in a mushroom sauce, Pal Mahno stewed lentils and, as a dessert, cake with beans in ginger vanilla sauce and pineapple.

On August 30 Domodedovo Catering Service, the largest in Russia and Eastern Europe in-flight catering facility, held Tasting Board. There was presented a renewed vegetarian menu. The event went off within the framework of concept “World on a plate. Healthy food.”

As is the main menu, vegetarian based on four distinct cuisines: Russian, European, American and Oriental. 80 brand new culinary masterpieces were offered to the experts. There were exclusive dishes such as Tabbouleh salad, vegetarian polenta in a mushroom sauce, Pal Mahno stewed lentils and, as a dessert, cake with beans in ginger vanilla sauce and pineapple.

All guest of the Tasting Board specified the high gustatory quality of the economy class dishes which are as good as the premium. This was made possible due to the special approach whereby for each of the dishes designs a receipt and selects ingredients of the best quality. Along with the use of up-to-date equipment.

Passengers will taste new autumn-winter menu on flights, departing from Domodedovo. Over 80% of Russian airlines, operating from Domodedovo, are provided with production of Domodedovo Catering Service; its in-flights meals are also ordered by the leading international airlines such as Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Swiss and others.

Domodedovo Catering Service is the largest in Russia and one of the largest in Eastern Europe and CIS countries in-flight catering companies for passengers of all classes; its production capacity is 80,000 meals a day. It offers a wide range of hot dishes, cold appetizers, desserts, confectionary products, including both standard meals (hot, cold, canned, light meals), and special types of dietary meals (Muslim, Eastern, medical, vegetarian, children, etc.).

Tasting Board of Domodedovo Catering Service – Before each navigation season change (spring-summer and autumn-winter periods) “Domodedovo Catering  Service” holds Tasting Board. The task is to accept new menu which later will be offered to airline for the next season. Tasting Border allows to gain independent expert assessment, to appraise taste of the dishes, its design and conformity with the newest trends. Every participant fills tasting form where writes down evaluationits own evaluation of the dish, personal impression and wishes. The Board consist of independent experts, Domodedovo key account managers and guests from mass media.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest one of Russia, in 2012 the airport served 28,2 million people. It joins the category of the largest airports in Europe on the classification of the Airports Council International (ACI) and on results of 2012 became one of three European airports with the highest dynamic development. Since 2009 it is ranked as the best airport in Eastern Europe by Skytrax. Domodedovo is chosen for flights by member airlines of two largest global airline alliances – Star Alliance and oneworld.
