Eastern Airways’s increased flights to Yorkshire from Southampton

The new afternoon flights increase capacity by a third with up to 15 flights a week in each direction with Southampton Airport facilitating connections from Jersey, Guernsey and other European destinations.

Eastern Airways is increasing services from Southampton Airport to Leeds Bradford Airport up to 3 flights a day, Monday to Thursday, as it offers more choice on its Flybe franchise services.

From 9 September 2019, the UK regional airline will introduce a 3pm afternoon flight from Southampton and a 1.10pm service from Leeds Bradford as part of its weekday offering.

The new afternoon flights increase capacity by a third with up to 15 flights a week in each direction with Southampton Airport facilitating connections from Jersey, Guernsey and other European destinations. The additional flights on the Southampton-Leeds Bradford route also complement the 8.40am and 7pm flights to Leeds Bradford and the 6.50am and 5.10pm southbound departures to Southampton.

Eastern Airways has been providing flights on the important Southampton – Leeds Bradford business route for over 13 years.

Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ General Manager Commercial & Operations, said: “We are offering greater choice and more flexibility by increasing the frequency to support south coast business and leisure travellers alike on our Southampton – Leeds Bradford service by operating these additional flights on behalf of Flybe.  This expands Flybe connectivity via the Southampton Airport hub, including Jersey and Guernsey among other European connections.”

Southampton Airport’s Managing Director, Neil Garwood, said: “We are delighted to add this extra service to Leeds with Eastern Airways, which gives our passengers even more choice.

“We look forward to developing our route network and working closely with our airline partners to offer the very best customer experience to our passengers and firmly establish our position as their airport of choice.”

On board Eastern Airways operated flights, passengers are offered a full range of complimentary drinks and snacks. Regular customers can also benefit from discounted route passes offering savings of up to 40%.

Yorkshire and Humber based Eastern Airways was formed in 1997 and operates a core network of schedule flights serving predominantly the North Sea oil and gas industry. The airline also specialises in providing customer-focused charter services for the oil and gas industry, corporate and sports contracts and ad-hoc charters.
