This year, the Catalan Tourist Board (CTB), organisation of the Government of Catalonia, participates in the WTM with a stand which presents the different destinations in Catalonia and its most representative products.
The CTB wants to strengthen the promotion of Catalonia in one of their key markets through the WTM. Its culture, its gastronomy and the Pyrenees Lleida-Alguaire airport, which may led to an increase in the winter sports tourism, are some of the main promotional themes to encourage the British to travel to Catalonia.
The UK is the second most important market for Catalonia, with over 1,4 million of British tourists and accounts for 10,3% of total foreign tourists arriving in this destination.
