In the reporting month of February 2007, Frankfurt Airport (FRA) again achieved new record traffic figures. In February 2007, Germany’s largest airport (FRA) welcomed 3,561,753 passengers, 3.8 percent more than in the same month of 2006.



Aircraft movements climbed to 36,971 takeoffs and landings. This represents an increase of 2.6 percent compared to the same month last year.



The increase in passenger figures was due to above average growth of 6.5 percent in European traffic and a 4.0 percent rise in intercontinental traffic, particularly on routes to and from North America and the Far East.



The Fraport Group’s eight airports (both in Germany and abroad) served a total of 4,837,250 passengers in the reporting month, 8.6 percent more than in February 2006. Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (HHN), Fraport’s booming low-cost airport in the Hunsruck region, received 262,602 passengers: n increase of 16.8 percent on the previous year. Some 309,096 passengers used Hanover Airport (HAJ), a gain of 1.9 percent. Saarbrucken Airport (SCN) reported 18,158 passengers, down 0.5 percent.



In the Peruvian capital, Lima Airport (LIM) continued to develop positively, with figures soaring by 24.6 percent versus February 2006 to 539,138 passengers. In the Turkish Riviera, the Fraport-owned International Terminal One at Antalya Airport (AYT) registered 134,129 passengers: three times as many as in the previous year. On the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, Bourgas (BOJ) Airport had 578 passengers, while Varna Airport (VAR) had 12,209 passengers in February 2007.
