Fraport AG`s executive board chairman, Dr. Wilhelm Bender, received an honorary award from the German Bundestag`s Parliamentary Committee on Tourism at the International Tourism Bourse (ITB) trade fair in Berlin. Ernst Hinsken, chairman of the parliamentary committee, praised Bender for his contribution to the German tourism industry. Bender has done an excellent job during his more than eleven years as chairman of Fraport; the 62,000 secure jobs at Frankfurt Airport are proof of his corporate success. Fraport`s planned expansion of Frankfurt Airport, which will generate thousands of more jobs, is one of the most important projects for the German economy, stressed Hinsken. Bender said that he was accepting the honorary prize (a cut lead-crystal ball) on behalf of Fraport AG`s employees who all contribute to making Frankfurt Airport a success story.
