Three Gassan 121 Diamonds worth £15,000 – brilliantly cut for unique extra sparkle – will be given away by the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions at this year’s World Travel Market, in aid of  Just a Drop, the international water charity.

Long time supporter of Just a Drop, Holland will be staging the ultimate draw for these most precious of gems on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th November on Wednesday 8th November at the Holland stand Meeting Point EM4000 at ExCeL London. All entries must be submitted at the Holland Meeting Point.

All delegates are eligible to enter the competition by making a minimum donation of £2 to Just a Drop and completing the entry card, available on the Holland Meeting Point as well as the Just a Drop stand in the Central Boulevard.

“We are delighted that once again Holland is setting an example to the more than 5,000 exhibitors from 202 representing countries and regions at this year’s World Travel Market by introducing a really creative and innovative idea to raise money”, said Fiona Jeffery, founder and Chairman of the Just a Drop Trustees.

They are among a number of exhibitors already making plans for their participation in fund raising for the charity during the four days of the event, including the German National Tourist Office.

“During the past eight years, supporters have raised thousands of pounds to provide clean water and sanitation for children and their families in 24 countries worldwide. But funds are still desperately needed and we are hoping that Holland and Germany’s ideas will inspire many more to join in the fun for a really worthwhile industry cause. Just a Drop will do all it can to support every fund raising idea.”

Mr. Andrew van der Feltz, Director UK & Ireland, Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions said that the prize diamonds are uniquely cut in Amsterdam. “The facets on the new 121 diamonds are cut one by one to gradually reveal the stone’s brilliant splendour. We are delighted to give away these three Gassan 121 diamonds each worth £5,000 in aid of Just A Drop. It’s a truly unique chance for delegates visiting the Holland Meeting Point (EM4000) at World Travel Market of winning one of these beautiful diamonds whilst giving their support to this most worthy cause”.

Water is the inspiration behind the German National Tourist Office’s project to raise funds at the event for Just a Drop.

“Bringing clean water and a chance of a healthy life to children in the world’s poorest areas is an honourable cause, and the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) is proud to be part of the travel industry’s joint effort to raise money for Just a Drop at this year’s World Travel Market,” said Udo Grebe, Director.

“Water is an important feature in Germany’s landscape, with rivers and lakes spread throughout the country. It is also an ever present part of Germany’s many spa towns. The waters of resorts such as Bad Aachen and Baden-Baden have been used to bring good health and beauty to people for centuries and were highly regarded by the Romans and many others since then. Water is used for external spa treatments, but water also brings beauty and health from within. Germany boasts over 130 mineral springs and produces 500 kinds of mineral water and 70 varieties of healing waters.”

The GNTO are inviting World Travel Market delegates to visit its stand EM1040 for a German mineral water tasting. In return for a donation to Just a Drop of £2.

Visitors will also be asked to vote for the travel industry’s favourite mineral water, as well as a chance to win a spa break in Germany, including flights with germanwings, transfers with Deutsche Bahn, accommodation at the luxurious Steigenberger Hotel Badischer Hof and a spa visit in Germany’s most famous spa town Baden-Baden.
