Iberia has taken delivery of a new Airbus A-321, registered EC-JDR and christened the Sierra Cebollera. The new aircraft, which is configured to carry between 186 and 194 passengers, will be used on domestic and European routes.



The new arrival brings to 13 the number of Airbus A-321s flown by Iberia. The aircraft features the latest technological advances, quieter operations, and better services to passengers. It belongs to the Airbus A-320 family, which also includes the A-319, A-320 and A-321. Iberia now flies 80 Airbus A-320 Family airplanes.



The incorporation of this new aircraft comes under Iberia`s ongoing fleet replacement programme , launched in 1998. Iberia is replacing all its older

aircraft with the most modern units which deliver better performance with lower fuel, operation, and maintenance costs.



Iberia names it Airbus A-321s for Spanish sites of interest to tourists. Sierra Cebollera is a mountain range in the province of La Rioja that is outstanding for its glacial topography, as well as its flora and fauna, a mixture of Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Central European species.
