The Altec group signed an agreement on February 9 to join forces with Interjet<.>, a subsidiary of Interamerican, creating the largest business aviation company in southeastern Europe and the Middle East.

Altec firm AMS sealed the deal by undertaking a increase of share capital in Interjet worth 1.5 billion drachmas. Under the plan, Interjet owns 60 percent of the company and Altec owns 40 percent.

Interjet is set to invest in new planes and helicopters, the latest of which is an ultra-modern Citation XL nine-seater plane worth $8 million while in March 2001 it will take delivery of a Dassault-Falcon 2000 that will be the crown jewel of its fleet.

Two high-tech AS 365 N3 helicopters are due to join Interjet by June as part of efforts to improve service and increase flight safety.
