In 2005 Deutsche Lufthansa AG is again to take the `airline pole position` in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes World and STOXX. The airline has maintained this top position since 1999. According to the evaluation carried out by Zurich-based SAM Sustainable Asset Management Indexes GmbH, Lufthansa`s performance in the economic areas is clearly above the industry average. Likewise, the company`s competence in environmental care earns top grades.



The DJSI World comprises more than 300 corporations from 24 countries, which are all considered leaders in applying the tenets of sustainable development. The pan-European sustainability index DJSI STOXX includes 167 companies from 12 countries. This annual ranking influences the decisions of investment managers from 14 countries. Investment volume has increased by almost 30 percent over 2003 to about €3 billion.
