Mapfre Assistance has signed an agreement with Intermundial company, the third biggest Spanish travel insurance group by market share, to provide a range of exclusive policies on the Italian market.
This agreement has meant that Mapfre Assistance is consolidating its commitment to the Italian market, where it has been working since 2006. It has shored up its already strong position in the travel insurance sector, a field in which it has great experience and international recognition. Last year the International Travel Insurance Journal (ITIJ) gave Mapfre Assistance the Award for Best Travel Insurance Company, one of the most prestigious accolades in the sector.
Mapfre Assistance is moving into the travel insurance sector in Italy with a wide range of products and great distribution capacity. It will be supplying four insurance products specially for travel: Ski and Adventure, Multiassistance (with or without cancellation), Groups and Travel Cancellation. These products will be available through wholesale channels, via tour operators and travel agencies, and also sold directly, meaning that customers will also be able to get them straight from the Intermundial web page.
The Italian tourist market is heading in a favourable direction, as 66 per cent of Italians assert that they will be going on holiday this summer, according to the latest survey made by the Italian Confederation of Small and Medium-sized Tourism, Trade and Service Companies (Confesercenti).
