BAA`s London airports, Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, are gearing up for a very busy winter season, featuring over 30 new services ranging from additional flights to popular destinations such as Tenerife, to unique places such as Tbilisi in Georgia.

Heathrow, which has more flights to international destinations than any other airport in the world, has increased capacity by 12,000 seats compared to last winter. Airlines continue to fly more passengers per aircraft making the best use of the space-constrained airport.

Gatwick will become the UK`s number one airport for skiers, with more ski destinations than any other UK airport and Stansted will add 21 more destinations than it had in winter 2002.

Commenting on the growing range of services and destinations from BAA`s London airports, Mike Clasper, BAA`s chief executive says; Our winter schedules are busy and the airlines are showing greater market confidence after a difficult start to the year. There are many highly competitive fares available this winter and the range of destinations has never been greater from our airports.

Heathrow`s top new routes include Tenerife with bmi and Tbilisi in Georgia (British Mediterranean). Eighteen of the new destinations launched in the summer will continue into the winter, including Dar-Es-Salaam, Bogota, Grand Cayman, Kiev Borispol (all BA), Alicante, Venice (both bmi) and Montego Bay (Air Jamaica).

At Gatwick, two of the country`s biggest ski companies, Ski Esprit and Total Ski are developing their choice of alpine destinations from Gatwick to resorts across Austria, France, Switzerland and Italy. Gatwick will also offer new flights to Johannesburg (Nationwide) and Sydney (Austravel) and three new airlines will make their debut this winter: dba (Berlin), Titan Airways (Innsbruck and Chambery) and Air Luxor (Lisbon).

Stansted`s additional services include six which are firsts at the airport including Tampere in Finland, Valladolid in Northern Spain (both Ryanair) and there are low fares to Budapest (Sky Europe). EasyJet has also added Amsterdam to its services.
