Around 2,09 million foreign and domestic tourists visited attractions in Slovenia in the January-to-October period, a rise of 4 percent over the same period in 2003, early data from the national statistical office show.
In October alone, the number of visitors stood at over 181,650, 7 percent more than in the same month in 2003.
Compared to October 2003, the number of domestic tourists dropped by 4 percent, while the number of foreigners increased by 14 percent.
The first ten months saw the number of domestic and foreign tourists at 725,822 and 1,363,657, respectively. While the number of Slovenians travelling around the country dropped by 5 percent, the number of foreigners rose by 10 percent.
The greatest number of tourists visiting Slovenia in October were from Italy, Austria and Germany.
