Record tourism arrivals to Cyprus

Cyprus expects to post record arrival<.>s and record income from tourism this year. During the first half of this year, arrivals are expected to increase by 10% and foreign exchange revenue from tourism by 17%, when compared with the same period last year.
Last year, some 2.2 million people visited the island and spent some 880 million pounds, or 485 billion drachmas. Many of those visitors came from Greece. This year even more are expected.
For the first half of this year, the number of Greek tourism arrivals to Cyprus increased by some 20%, according to the Cypriot embassy here, but next year that percentage is expected to be even larger as there will be an open skies policy between the two countries….
