Seabourn Cruise Line has named Andrew Magowan to the newly created position of director, Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA) for the ultra luxury cruise company. Magowan will be based in Southampton, England and report to Seabourn`s president and CEO, Pamela C. Conover.

He will be responsible for marketing and sales efforts for the line`s three intimate, all-suite cruise ships in Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Africa, and for expanding the company`s business relationships in those regions in preparation for the launch of Seabourn`s two new ultra luxury vessels, due to enter service in 2009 and 2010.

We are pleased to have Andy`s experience, his far-reaching connections and his business acumen fully dedicated to The Yachts of Seabourn as we prepare to more than double our fleet capacity, said Conover. The EMEA region is our second-largest source of business, after North America, she noted, and there is clearly a need for a full-time presence in the region, to satisfy the growing enthusiasm both for our existing yachts and for the new ones as they come on line.

Whilst continuing to work ever closer with UK trade partners, much of Seabourn`s business in the EMEA region is contracted to General Sales Agents, with whom Magowan will be working closely in his new expanded role.
