Ten thousand passengers for Maersk Air from Athens

On Monday 21st June 1999, the Danish airline Maersk<.> Air represented in Greece by APG Hellas S.A., operating daily scheduled flights to Copenhagen since 28th March this year, has transported its 10,000th passenger.
At the presentation of the annual report 1998 on 4 June 1999, the President of Maersk Air, Mr Ole Dietz, revealed that Maersk Air is considering the possibility of increasing the number of frequencies on the route of Athens.
Mr. John Platanias, general manager of APG Hellas S.A. wished to the 10,000th passenger a pleasant flight and presented him a bottle of champagne and some Danish delicacies to celebrate the occasion.
Within the short span of 3 months Maersk Air with its daily operation from Copenhagen to Athens and its brand new Boeing 737-500 fleet has established a firm foothold both in the Greek and Danish markets.
Maersk Air was nominated in 1998 by the aviation trade of Denmark as the best domestic airline and also as the airline providing the best service and comfort in Business class on international routes.
During 1998 a total of 801,000 passengers flew on Maersk Air`s international routes, which corresponds to an increase of 10% over the 1997 level. It is worth mentioning that Maersk Air was voted among the top 10 best airlines in Europe for last year.
