The Government of Cyprus<.> has granted licenses for new airline operations. These three are Helios Airways, Capital L, and Aerotrans. The Capital L is a Louis Organization enterprise. It had been noted that some 85 percent of the tourists to Cyprus arrive by charter flights.

Helios is the first to announce its schedule, with its initial flight set for May 16, with a Boeing 737-400, to a from the U.K. Other countries for its charter operations are Sweden, Italy, Hungary, and the Netherlands.

Secondary schedule is for charter operations outbound from Cyprus.
