UITT (Ukraine International Travel & Tourism Exhibition) is showing substantial growth at the next edition, taking place from 29 March – 1 April 2006 at the IEC (Kiev) as an increasing number of companies are turning their attention to the Ukraine market as they realize the vast potential to do business.

The GDP in Ukraine increased by 10% in 2004 and significant investment is being made into the tourism infrastructure. Visa requirements for EU members have also been canceled encouraging travel to and from the region. Companies are recognizing that now more than ever; they have enormous opportunities to increase activities in Ukraine.

Testamount to the development of the travel industry in Ukraine in the growth of the MICE sector – hence, the recent launch of MICE Ukraine, an international workshop dedicated to business travel, which took place on 27 September 2005 at the Premier Palace Hotel. The second edition is scheduled for the same date in 2006.

At the 2006 edition of UITT, many established exhibitors are stepping up their marketing promotion in Ukraine. The Tourist Boards of Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, India, France, Malaysia and Catalunya are all increasing their space at UITT2006.

In particular, UITT is attracting attention from long haul destinations, reflecting the growing number of Ukraine travelers to exotic destinations. A number of national participations from different geographical regions have confirmed their participation at UITT2006 for the first time.

The Maldives Tourism Promotion Board has confirmed its participation as newcomers. From the Latin American region, Argentina Secretaria de Promocion Turistica has also booked its first ever participation at UITT2006, and we are pleased to announce that Check Point Latin America from Bolivia will be taking its first stand at UITT2006.

Greece will also be represented through newcomer Prefecture of Halkidiki – Halkidiki Hotel Association. And for the first time, Montenegro will be represented through the participation of BeRing Montenegro.

At UITT2006, an array of seminars, presentations and conferences will be held alongside the exhibition. The evening gala dinner where the Ukraine Travel Awards are presented, through to the comprehensive seminar and conference programme, will offer a whole week of activities and networking opportunities for those involved with the Ukrainian tourism market.
