Unique Venues of London reports a rise in event attendance over summer

London venues enjoyed a rise in guests attending individual events last quarter, according to research from Unique Venues of London

London venues enjoyed a rise in guests attending individual events last quarter, according to research from Unique Venues of London (UVL). Despite the industry ‘low’ synonymous with this period, UVL venues reported that events held during this time were attended by more people, despite it being holiday season.

“The research certainly provides food for thought as it flies in the face of the industry’s desire to avoid the summer period because of holidays,” commented Ian Lovat Fraser, Chairman and Founder of Unique Venues of London. “In fact, our research saw a steady increase in attendance in the three event categories monitored; Corporate, Private and Charity.”

The research analysed the average attendance of events across the three categories. Corporate events saw an average increase of +4% guests per event, whilst charity events also enjoyed a rise of +3.4%. The real jump however was within private events which saw a dramatic increase of 28 – 80 guests per event.

Lovat Fraser continued, “Certainly the rise in private event numbers can be attributed to the predictable increase in wedding bookings at this time of year. There was however a significant boost in other private dinners and balls, showing that there is a real appetite for large events in the summer period.”

Unique Venues of London represents a network of 61 London venues, all offering unique event environments.
