VLM Airlines launches new London City – Amsterdam service

VLM Airlines is pleased to announce the latest addition to the airline’s growing schedule: a new three times daily service between London City and Amsterdam

VLM Airlines is pleased to announce the latest addition to the airline’s growing schedule: a new three times daily service between London City and Amsterdam. The service will commence on Monday 4th April 2005 and further strengthens the position of VLM Airlines as the leading carrier at London City Airport, operating 82 flights per weekday to eight destinations across Europe.

The announcement comes just five weeks after the successful launch of the Southampton – Brussels route and exemplifies the strategy and vision of the airline: to offer business passengers an efficient, high quality product . Benefits of using less congested airports such as London City include short check-in times (20 minutes prior to departure) and swift boarding and disembarkation procedures. Furthermore VLM Airlines’ has an excellent reputation for punctuality (last year 92% of the airline’s flights departed on time).

Johan Vanneste, Managing Director of VLM comments: “We have a strong reputation within the business communities in the various countries we operate. In the United Kingdom, we have obtained a reputation of being an extremely punctual and highly reliable airline that flies discerning business passengers within Europe”.

In addition, Richard Gooding Managing Director of London City Airport comments: “The Amsterdam route has been operated from London City Airport since 1987 and the new VLM frequencies offer business passengers a much improved choice of flights when travelling to Amsterdam. VLM Airlines has been operating from London City Airport since 1993 and the VLM Amsterdam service compliments their growing list of destinations from London City”.

VLM Airlines has also increased the frequencies of the London City to Rotterdam and London City to Luxembourg routes. The London City – Rotterdam route will now be operating 10 times daily and the London City – Luxembourg route has increased from three to four flights a day. The increase in these schedules reflects the market demand between London and these key European financial centres.
