How the travel and tourism industry should respond to terrorism is the focus of a debate at World Travel Market next month organized by the International Institute of Peace Through Tourism (IIPT).

The panel debate, ‘A Strategic Travel Industry Response to International Terrorism’, will take place on the World Stage at ExCeL London on Monday 14 November.

Moderator of the panel will be Akel Biltaji, Special Advisor to King Abdullah II, who led the discussions on the same issue at the 3rd IIPT Global Summit on Peace Through Tourism in Pattaya, Thailand, Oct 2-5, 2005. H.E. Biltaji, in his former position as Minister of Tourism & Antiquities for Jordan, hosted the first IIPT Global Summit in Amman, November, 2000.

According to Louis D’Amore, IIPT Founder and President: “The debate will feature senior travel industry leaders from areas that have recently experienced terrorist bombings, who will share their response strategies as well as ideas and perspectives for a long term global industry response in addressing the root causes of terrorism.”
