FITUR Meet Africa, a new tool for discovering Africa’s tourism offer at FITUR

This new platform is for scheduling meetings to promote Africa’s tourism offering and networking with industry professionals attending FITUR from 22nd to 26th January.

MADRID – FITUR, the International Tourism Trade Fair, organized by IFEMA will take place at Feria de Madrid from 22nd to 26th January 2020, and will have a new platform to enhance Africa’s presence at the Fair. This is FITUR Meet Africa, a tool for scheduling meetings, discovering Africa’s tourism offering and for networking with industry professionals attending FITUR.

FITUR Meet Africa will be an opportunity for exhibitors from Africa, in Hall 1 of the Fair, to promote their tourism offering, and for trade visitors interested in the region to discuss their demand profile. They can use it to make initial contacts and schedule meetings at their own stands during the FITUR event.

How to Participate in Meet Africa
Exhibitors or co-exhibitors from the Africa region in Hall 1, as well as trade visitors and exhibitors participating in other FITUR areas, should register and provide an explanation of their supply and demand profile. After 16th December 2019, all registrants will receive an email with their username and password to access FITUR Meet Africa’s private area where they can arrange meetings and request confirmation from the other parties. Confirmed dates will be added to an agenda of meetings to be held at each stand.

INVESTOUR, Tourism Showcase for Africa
FITUR Meet Africa is just one of FITUR’s initiatives for enhancing Africa’s participation and visibility at the Fair. FITUR will once again become, as it does every year, a major showcase for African tourism when it hosts INVESTOUR, the Tourism Investment and Business Forum for Africa, which FITUR organises in partnership with the World Tourism Organisation and Casa Africa. INVESTOUR celebrates its eleventh edition in 2020 which will take place on Thursday 23rd January, within the framework of FITUR.

INVESTOUR’s main aim is to promote sustainable development in Africa while encouraging dialogue about investment and business opportunities in the continent. This major event is structured in two sessions: one will be a series of panel discussions and the other will consist of presentations about different investment projects. This ensures that the Forum works as a strategic platform for African organisations to present their tourism projects. The panel discussions will focus on rural tourism and cultural tourism through gastronomy and creative industries.
