JetBlue Airways announces flights from Boston to Houston Hobby Airport

Starting in July, 2013, Boston's largest airline will be adding two daily to Houston's Hobby Airport.

BOSTON – JetBlue Airways, Boston’s largest airline with more flights than any other carrier at Logan International Airport (BOS), announced it will be adding two daily flights between Boston’s Logan International Airport and Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport starting July 25, 2013.

“JetBlue is committed to giving its customers more for less, which is particularly true for our new route to Houston, the first regularly scheduled service between these two airports,” said Dennis Corrigan, JetBlue’s Vice President of Sales and Revenue Management. “We’re proud to have become Boston’s carrier of choice and the preferred airline for business and leisure travel by providing competitive fares, a better experience and more network relevance.”

“JetBlue said they will continue their remarkable growth at Logan and they are true to their word,” said Ed Freni, the Director of Aviation for the Massachusetts Port Authority, which owns and operates Logan. “We congratulate the airline on its 49th destination from Logan and we are pleased that Houston Hobby becomes Logan’s 74th non-stop domestic destination.”

“Houston welcomes the new nonstop flights between Hobby Airport and Boston this summer,” said Mario C.Diaz, Houston Airport System Director. “The growth of JetBlue in the Houston market demonstrates the strength of our local economy.”

As JetBlue flies towards its goal of operating more than 150 daily departures in Boston, it continues to add destinations that are relevant to its customers and Boston’s thriving business community. JetBlue has experienced exponential growth since its Boston launch in 2004, adding an average of five new destinations annually. Over the past year, the airline launched direct service to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, Charleston, S.C and Grand Cayman in The Cayman Islands. JetBlue now operates more than 100 daily flights to 49 nonstop destinations across the U.S., Caribbean and Mexico and serves approximately 7 million customers at Logan annually.

Customers connecting through Boston on JetBlue from select destinations can also take advantage of convenient onward service to Europe and beyond on JetBlue’s partner airlines Aer Lingus, American Airlines, Icelandair, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa and Virgin Atlantic, or to destinations throughout New England with Cape Air.

In addition to its Boston focus city, JetBlue offers service from six other New England airports: Burlington, Vt.; Hartford, Conn.; Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, Mass.; Portland, Maine; and Providence, R.I.
