TAM Airlines to inaugurate new Orlando to Brasilia route; LAN Peru to launch first-ever nonstop flight between Orlando and Lima.
ORLANDO, FLA. – Committed to strengthening connectivity internationally and connecting the U.S. to South America, LATAM Airlines Group affiliate LAN Peru and TAM Airlines are inaugurating brand new routes from Orlando International Airport (MCO) this month to Brazil and Peru, respectively. TAM Airlines is kicking off a new service to Brasilia International Airport from Orlando International Airport today, June 12, 2015. TAM also currently serves Sao Paulo from Orlando with 14 weekly flights. Additionally, LAN Peru will offer the first-ever daily nonstop flights between Orlando International Airport and Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru, starting June 20, 2015.

TAM Airlines: Orlando to Brasilia
Brasilia serves as a hub for TAM’s domestic operations. This increase in international flights to Brazil’s capital, Brasilia, directly benefits passengers departing from the U.S., providing convenient access to over 40 Brazilian destinations, specifically connecting the U.S. to Northern Brazil.
The new route will fly daily from Orlando (flight JJ8049) at 10:30 p.m. (local time) and arrive in Brasilia at 7:19 a.m. the following day (local time). The return flight will depart daily from Brasilia (flight JJ8048) at 11:22 a.m. (local time) and arrive in Orlando at 6:30 p.m. (local time).
B767-300 TAM Premium Business class.
TAM Airlines will operate the route from MCO using the modern Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The aircraft is configured with 191 seats in Economy class and 30 in Premium Business class, featuring seats that recline up to 180 degrees full flat.
The interior of the TAM 767-300 aircraft was designed to provide a comfortable experience with the charm of South America. Premium Business class passengers can enjoy an award-winning wine list with some of the best vintages from South America and Europe, handpicked by Latin America’s only Master Sommelier, Hector Vergara; an in-flight menu designed by the region’s leading chefs, incorporating the flavors of South America with international cuisine; state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment with screens that measure up to 15.4 inches; and a luxury amenity kit by European cosmetics brand, Rituals.
Economy class passengers can enjoy ergonomic, reclining seats and adjustable headrests, as well as carefully selected meals, on-demand entertainment, individual flat screen TVs in each seat that measure up to 9 inches, free meals, wine and spirits, headphones, eye mask, blankets, pillows and an amenity kit.
LAN Airlines (LAN Peru): Orlando to Lima Route
Orlando is LAN Airlines’ fourth gateway in the U.S., joining New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Earlier this year, LAN Peru added two additional flights per week from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Lima. The airline expects to transport more than 80,000 passengers each year from South America to Orlando via Lima.
LAN Peru will operate the route on an Airbus A319 aircraft, which seats 126 passengers in Economy class. The aircraft will feature the airline’s recent technology investments aimed at improving passenger experience. These improvements include adding wireless in-flight entertainment on the A319 and A320 fleet, allowing passengers to watch movies, TV shows and videos via their own personal mobile devices – smart phones, tablets and lap tops. To access the wireless in-flight entertainment option on personal devices, passengers must download the application, LAN Entertainment.
LAN and TAM are the first airlines in South America to implement wireless entertainment for personal devices, and this new flight from Orlando to Lima will be the first flight from the U.S. to feature this technology. As of January, LAN and TAM began implementing this technology. This implementation should be completed by 2016.
