Michelin’s revised German travel guide explores one of Europe’s great destinations

The Green Guide Germany has a new modern layout, new photography and all the details travelers have come to expect from Michelin travel guides.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Germany, a land of many dimensions and divergent cultures, is a destination that seasoned travelers to Europe always include on their must-see list. Once a land divided into what Germans still refer to as “tribes,” Germany has been a nation for only 144 years. So a trip that explores the country is an ever-changing adventure. The Michelin Green Guide Germany has been freshly revised as a resource for serious travelers seeking the full range of Germany’s cultural experiences. Michelin’s updated ninth edition of this popular guide is now on sale at Barnes & Noble and on Amazon.com.

The Green Guide Germany has a new modern layout, new photography and all the details travelers have come to expect from Michelin travel guides. The guide also offers driving tours that include illustrated sections on modern Germany, its history, architecture and cultures – all written by experts in the field.

“Germany is such a wide-ranging country with so many cities and diverse regions that it can be daunting for many travelers. The guide is a tool that helps travelers plan a trip that allows them to experience the facets of the country they are most interested in. It is also designed to be a very practical resource when people reach a destination and need to make their way in unknown territory,” said Cynthia Ochterbeck, editorial director of Michelin Travel Partner. “For example, in this new edition we have information that is organized into what you need to know before you leave, and what’s important when you land.'”

The guide offers revised walking and driving tours that provide an in-depth, intimate experience of the region, which include, for example, a walking tour of Lubeck’s old town, a bike tour of historic parts of Berlin, hikes to the Moselle Valley villages or places to stop in Dresden for a memorable cafe experience.

The Michelin Green Guide Germany also contains detailed walk-throughs of museums, galleries, churches and other areas of historical and cultural interest. This includes illustrations and floor plans that highlight in more detail the most compelling aspects of these attractions. With its star-rating system, the Michelin Green Guide Germany rates activities, places to stay and eat. The guide also contains practical details about tour schedules, parking fees and reservations.
