Hotel technology event in Dubai to feature top speakers and issues

Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) marks a major milestone in its growth next month, with its first-ever Members’ Meeting in the Middle East region. HTNG’s annual events in North America, Europe, and Asia are well known for drawing top-level speakers and attendees from the entire hotel technology community. The program scheduled for the Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel in Dubai on May 15-16 will continue this tradition. Special offers are available for non-members of HTNG interested in attending.

As a non-profit organization run by top hotel IT executives for the benefit of hotels and their technology vendors, HTNG understands the issues hotel technologists face. This year’s planned agenda provides thought leadership presentations and panel sessions on important hospitality technology issues -future trends, credit card security, social media/networking, guest room technologies, cloud computing and bandwidth usage trends.

The program and speaker line-up include:
– Forrester’s Director of Consulting Services Azzam Al Dari on eBusiness
– InterContinental Hotels Group’s Director of Technology Ali Saeb on Social Networking
– Jumeirah CEO Guy Crawford on the state of hospitality in the Middle East and the role of technology
– Atlantis CIO Joe Tesfai on technology for new hotel openings
– A CIO/IT Leadership Panel including Taj Group SVP/CIO Prakash Shukla, Jumeirah VP Floor Bleeker, Mercator (Emirates Airlines IT) Vice President Duncan Alexander, and cross-industry perspective from other CIO level participants pending final confirmation
– Deloitte & Touch Senior Manager Saqib Chaudhry, and Director Nidal Tewabi on PCI
– Top Australian hotel technology consultant Ted Horner moderating a session on guest room technologies, to include noted consultant Fraser Hickox (retired General Manager of Research & Technology for Peninsula Hotels) and others
– New iBAHN research on bandwidth usage in hotels, presented by iBAHN consultant and Jireh-Tek Managing Director Bryan Steele
– Jumeirah VP of IT David Teklit on cloud computing.

HTNG’s members’ meetings are for members only, but even with the cost of membership, the event is priced for hoteliers at substantially less than conferences of comparable quality.  Memberships start at just $325 for hoteliers and individual consultants, and as a special incentive for this first Middle East meeting, HTNG is including event registration with any new hotel membership or corporate industry partner (vendor) membership in the region. For hoteliers, this means a one-year membership and meeting registration for half the regular price of the meeting alone.
