Pulkovo Airport increases passenger traffic by 13.8% for the first two months of 2019

In the two months of 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 23,464 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 9.8% year-on-year.

For January-February 2019, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 2,313,084 passengers, which is 13.8% more than in the same period of 2018.

The number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 14.8% to 1,596,521 passengers. International traffic increased by 11.6% and amounted to 716,563 passengers.

In the two months of 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 23,464 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 9.8% year-on-year.

In the two months of 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Pobeda, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, and Nordavia were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 1,520,607 passengers at St. Petersburg Airport or 65.7% of the total traffic for that period. Among foreign airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, Belavia, Lufthansa, Emirates, and Finnair became the leaders at St. Petersburg Airport for the 2-month period of 2019. In total, they handled 162,507 passengers at Pulkovo or 7% of the airport traffic.

In February 2019, 1,082,934 passengers traveled through Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, a number 13.5% higher than in the same month of 2018.

Domestic traffic increased by 15.2% to 754,924 passengers compared to the same period of 2018. International traffic grew by 9.9% year-on-year and amounted to 328,010 passengers.

In February 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 11,054 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 10% to the level of February 2018.

In February 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Pobeda, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, and Nordavia were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 725,966 passengers or 67% of the total traffic at St. Petersburg Airport for that period. Among foreign airlines, the leaders were Uzbekistan Airways, Lufthansa, Belavia, Emirates, and Finnair. In total, they handled 74,893 passengers at Pulkovo or 6.9% of the airport traffic for February 2019.

In February 2019, Pulkovo, for the fourth year in a row, became the winner of the national ‘Air Gates of Russia’ award. According to the passengers’ votes, the air harbor of St. Petersburg ranked as the most comfortable among the Russian airports.

St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport is the fourth airport in Russia in terms of passenger numbers. Since 2010, Northern Capital Gateway LLC has been the main operator of Pulkovo implementing  the airport reconstruction and development project under the public-private partnership agreement with the city St. Petersburg.
