Scheduled flights Heathrow to Luxor, to resume 17 February 2014

Egypt tour operator Discover Egypt says that no other destination can match Egypt’s timeless appeal and unique historical sites and this is why it remains a popular holiday choice for many holidaymakers.

British holidaymakers have once again shown their resilience to the recent troubles in Egypt with more than 50 travellers joining the first Nile cruise on board Discover Egypt’s Royal Viking. Holidaymakers joined the cruise from Heathrow on 02 December and on 03 December from Manchester for a 7-night classic Nile cruise.

Egyptair has confirmed that weekly, direct scheduled flights from Heathrow to Luxor will resume on Monday 17 February 2014 and specialist Discover Egypt will reinstate the scheduled service from Heathrow to Luxor for its Nile Cruises and holidays to include twin centre stays. Flight timings will also suit those wishing to connect from other regional UK departure airports as the Luxor direct flights depart at 14:35 UK local time and arrive on their return at 13:05.

The operator also reported that bookings are coming in daily for what is a peak season for Upper Egypt and classic Nile cruises. Nile cruises are one of the most popular options offering great value for money as they are usually full board and include guided excursion to the country’s top sites en route.

For travellers looking for a winter sun break, Discover Egypt is currently offering 5* deluxe Nile cruises on Royal Viking weekly from both Heathrow and Manchester.

Cruises start and end in Luxor and highlights include the Valley of the Kings and Queens, including the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the breath-taking Temples of Karnak and Luxor. Cruise highlights include the Colossi of Memnon, Esna and Edfu, Aswan and its High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and the Old Granite Quarries.
