Titan Travel unveils spectacular new USA & Canada brochure for 2014

In keeping with Titan's commitment to offering the best blend of quality and value, many of its itineraries also feature early-booking discounts for reservations made before 31st October 2013.

Titan, the multi award-winning travel company, has unveiled its brand new 2014 USA & Canada brochure, featuring 10 new tours in an extensive programme of itineraries featuring destinations from Alaska  and the edge of the Arctic Circle to the borders of Central and South America, and everything in between.

Titan has been operating escorted tours to North America since 1978 and despite the fact that it is now a genuine worldwide travel company, offering tours and cruises to more than 70 countries and all seven continents, its holidays in North America are still the most numerous and well established, with over 60 tours and cruises to choose from. One of its first, and a perennial favourite, is the 16-day ‘California & The Golden West’ itinerary. The 16-day tour takes in all the key attractions in San Francisco, Scottsdale, Las Vegas, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. In response to customer demand a second upgraded version of the tour, ‘Wonders of the Golden West’ has been created for 2014, with the added benefit of premium accommodation along the way.

In keeping with Titan’s commitment to offering the best blend of quality and value, many of its itineraries also feature early-booking discounts for reservations made before 31st October 2013. Solo travellers can also take advantage of hundreds of special offer places with reduced single supplements.

As a travel destination, North America is hard to beat and the brochure showcases a diverse range of exciting overland tours, combining some with relaxing ocean cruises and iconic rail journeys; taking passengers from the awe-inspiring natural beauty of its many national parks to glamorous and cultural hotspots in iconic cities on both the east and west coast.

Working in partnership with Rocky Mountaineer since 1990, Titan was the first UK company to offer escorted tours of the Canadian Rockies by train and today offers a choice of itineraries incorporating a journey on this travel icon. New for 2014 is an exploration of Canada and Alaska on the 17-day ‘The World’s Most Spectacular Rail Journey’ tour. Travelling in upgraded Silverleaf class from Jasper to Seattle, the tour includes visits to stunning Lake Louise and the breathtaking Maligne Lake, as well as an Ice Explorer ride on the Columbia Icefields. There is plenty of time to relax in the mountain towns of Banff and Jasper before boarding the NCL Norwegian Jewel in Seattle. The 7-night cruise travels north to the Alaskan capital Juneau and on to Skagway, the starting point of the famed Chilkoot Trail that lead gold seekers to the Klondike goldfields in the 1890s. The tour ends with 3 nights in cosmopolitan Vancouver. There are two departures in 2014 – on 11th May and 24th August.

For those wanting a more extensive exploration of Alaska, new scheduled flights with Icelandair from Reykavik to Anchorage enable travellers to fly direct to Alaska without the cost and travel time of changing in Vancouver. Taking advantage of this service, the new 13-day ‘Natural Wonders of Alaska’ tour showcases the dramatic landscapes of this region, sculpted by fire and ice. See mighty glaciers flanked by snow-capped peaks and marvel at the magnificent mountains of Wrangell-St Elias National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Departures in May, June and September 2014 enable travellers to experience Fairbanks (only 200 miles from the Arctic Circle) during the long summer days.

Further south other exciting new tours include ‘Texan Riches – the Best of the Lone Star State’, a 14-day journey through the wild and fascinating region of Texas, where everything is done on a grand scale. Not only is it the largest state in the USA, it readily conjures up images of sky-scraping cities, gallons of oil and vast cattle ranches. The tour offers a wonderful mix of attractions starting in Dallas with a visit to Dealey Plaza and the Sixth Floor Museum, situated in the former Texas School Book Depository from where Lee Harvey Oswald is alleged to have shot President John F Kennedy. In the evening, fans of the 1980’s TV show Dallas will have an opportunity to reminisce with a tour and dinner at the iconic Southfork ranch. A further highlight is the historical trading-post town that became the city of San Antonio, and a visit to the legendary frontier mission, the Alamo, where Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie and Colonel Travis fought their infamous battle. The tour travels on to the Gulf coast with a stay in Corpus Christi and Galveston, and finishes in Houston with a visit to the NASA Space Centre. There are four departure dates, on 21st May, 4th June, 3rd September and 1st October 2014.

A new option to Florida and Central America for 2014 is a 15-day ‘Voyage to the Mayan Empire’. Starting with a brief stay near Florida’s top theme park attractions, the six-night Florida tour continues to laid-back Sarasota (with a visit to the historic home of circus magnate John Ringling, now a major art museum) and on to the vibrant city of Tampa, via the wonderful Dali Museum in St Petersburg (home to the largest collection of the famed surrealist’s works outside of his native Spain).  The journey continues with a 7-night cruise aboard Holland America’s MS Ryndam.  After stopping in Key West, the voyage takes in the highlights of the Western Caribbean, including Roatan (Honduras), Santo Tomas de Castilla (Guatemala) and Costa Mayo (Mexico), with optional shore excursions to discover national parks and Mayan ruins.
