Tourlane strengthens leadership with new Senior Operations, Product & HR appointments

Berlin-based travel-tech company Tourlane brings on key strategic hires from Klarna, McKinsey & Company, and Wayfair to support continued growth.

BERLIN, GERMANY – Tourlane, the tech-travel company for expert-made dream vacations, announced the appointment of Holger Haenecke as Vice President People & Culture, Leah Farmer as Senior Vice President Product, and Volker Bergner as Senior Vice President Operations. The three executives have joined Tourlane’s leadership team led by joint CEOs & Co-Founders Julian Stiefel and Julian Weselek.

Since its foundation in 2016, Tourlane has been growing steadily at 400% p.a. Today, more than 300 employees define a new experience in travel using technology and travel expertise to customize vacations that put the meaning back in travel. Holger, Leah, and Volker come on board to support the company in its next stage of growth.

Holger Haenecke joins Tourlane as VP People & Culture. He oversees Tourlane’s recruiting, learning & development and people partner teams and takes care of developing the organization and corporate culture in line with the Tourlane’s growth plans. Before joining Tourlane, Holger spent 15 years at McKinsey & Company – initially as a consultant specializing in tech and organization structure and later as a Global Head of People at McKinsey’s Digital Labs. Most recently worked for Wayfair as Director of Talent Europe.

Leah Farmer joins Tourlane as SVP Product where she takes care of scaling product solutions. Before joining Tourlane, Leah spent 16 years in e-commerce with companies of all sizes, including Amazon’s payments platform. Most recently, she worked as VP Product for Merchant Services at Klarna, where she and her teams built platforms that enabled 205K+ merchants worldwide to operate and grow their business using Klarna's payment solutions. 

Volker Bergner joins Tourlane as SVP Operations. He oversees Tourlane‘s operations, travel product and pricing. Before joining Tourlane, Volker was part of Wayfair‘s executive team in Europe, where he led European operations and product management through rapid growth. He started his career at McKinsey & Company, advising telecommunications companies in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
