TUI Travel announces more than 1,500 jobs for summer 2014

TUI Travel has already opened the application for summer 2014 for the most popular roles, such as overseas customer advisors and childcare, with the aim of getting all 1,500 staff on resort by 1st April next year.

LONDON – TUI Travel PLC, one of the world’s leading leisure travel companies, announces it has changed the way it recruits for the majority of its UK customer-facing roles making it easier for potential recruits to find, apply and join the Group. Due to the sheer diversity of jobs and opportunities across the company it has brought eight of its brands under one roof. The website tuitraveljobs.co.uk will now handle all recruitment for customer-facing roles in Thomson, First Choice, JCA, Sunsail, Travelbound, Crystal Ski, Ski Bound Holidays and Flexiski. The portal gives potential employees access to information about the specific brands and information on the 100 different customer facing roles that UK businesses are currently recruiting for.

Whereas previously, recruitment has been handled by the individual brand, TUI Travel has taken the decision to create this portal to provide a ‘one stop shop’. This will show the breadth of choice when researching and applying for new opportunities, whilst ensuring a seamless application experience.

The businesses between them are looking to recruit more than 1,500 people for over 100 different job roles across nine different countries for summer 2014. TUI Travel has already opened the application for summer 2014 for the most popular roles, such as overseas customer advisors and childcare, with the aim of getting all 1,500 staff on resort by 1st April next year.

Jacky Simmonds, Group HR Director at TUI Travel explained, “This change will mean recruitment for UK roles at many TUI Travel businesses are now housed under one roof. This includes not only overseas roles, but also airline, retail and call centre opportunities. Our current and prospective employees will have the opportunity to move around the brands or roles within head offices.

“The benefit to our current employees is that they can easily move within the Group and develop an exciting lifelong career within TUI Travel. This is mutually beneficial to both our staff and customers, as employees will have a greater understanding of the business as a whole.”

Due to the phenomenal demand, TUI Travel will be a launching a smart phone and tablet-friendly version of the website in October.
