Arleen Martin Carlson, a long-time philanthropist and active supporter of the Twin Cities community, died Thursday, Aug. 4, in Minneapolis. She was 93.
Arleen was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Carlson, with whom she founded the Gold Bond Stamp Company, the precursor of Carlson Companies, where she served as a director until 1999. Known as the “Queen Mother” of Carlson Companies, her essential contributions to the organization spanned a period of more than 60 years.
