SeaDream Yacht Club will not be returning to South America in the Winter season of 2007-2008. Instead, SeaDream II, will redeploy to the West Indies for five and nine-night sailings operating in what it describes as “SeaDream’s Caribbean.”

According to the company, this redeployment will not affect the 2007 Spring South America programme on sister vessel SeaDream I, nor does this redeployment affect her published schedules for the winter season 2007-2008 and beyond.

The operator said that a multitude of unexpected operational challenges encountered during its inaugural season in South America prompted the decision not to return.

“Exceeding our guest expectations is what SeaDream has become renowned for” said Ian Buckeridge, SeaDream’s Senior Director. “Factors we have encountered in the region such as strict cabotage laws (which forced continuous retooling of itineraries), the recessive regulatory environment and Brazil’s well publicized overt crime problems has meant that we have been unable to deliver the product and service to the standard we require of ourselves and that our guests expect of us, and their satisfaction is and will continue to be our highest priority.”
