Greengage partner with SITU to offer ECOsmart sustainability accreditation

Recognising the growing trend for business travellers to use serviced accommodation, Greengage has partnered with SITU to offer a sustainability accreditation process tailored to the sector.

Maidenhead based consulting and accreditation company, Greengage Travel & Event Solutions, is supporting SITU in a commitment to driving environmental sustainability through SITU’s global serviced accommodation network.

Greengage ECOsmart is an industry standard accreditation, awarded to accommodation providers who have implemented an eco-friendly approach.

We are specialists in environmental sustainability , providing independent advice to the accommodation, travel and events sector”, said Andrew Perolls, CEO of Greengage Travel & Event Solutions. “our vision is to help organisations like SITU on a pathway to commercial success while at the same time helping the planet”.

Recognising the growing trend for business travellers to use serviced accommodation, Greengage has partnered with SITU to offer a sustainability accreditation process tailored to the sector.

Seth Hanson, Head of Global Supply Chain at SITU Serviced Apartments said, “SITU makes every effort to be as eco-conscious as possible in our own business operations and partnering with Greengage is going to exponentially help us achieve this”.

SITU is in a unique position partnered with thousands of accommodation operators around the world. If we can encourage our supplier network to improve their sustainability efforts through engagement with Greengage, then it can make a massive difference”.

Greengage has identified that companies are making greener business choices, including decisions on where to stay. ECOsmart accreditation provides serviced apartments with the “Green Bill of Health” that organisations are seeking. This adds credibility to sustainably run properties and identifies any gaps to prioritise improvements.

The ECOsmart audit takes into account such areas as energy and water conservation, waste management, facilities & consumables, plastics reduction and building construction. By choosing sustainable accommodation you can, amongst other things, save CO2 emissions which are a major contributor to the global warming crisis. Just some of the measures that make a difference include choosing a renewable energy provider, using LED bulbs, energy efficient appliances, motion sensor lighting, efficient recycling, deploying solar panels and using locally sourced products and services that reduce transportation miles.
