Applied AI powerhouse Left Travel rebrands as TravelAI to reflect ‘micro-segmentation’ strategy

Under the TravelAI umbrella, TravelAI has a growing portfolio of brands, with new additions launching regularly to meet the shifting sands of the travel consumer landscape.

VANCOUVER, CANADA – Splurge on travel? A new global report shows 32 percent of consumers are ready. That same report says AI and ‘segmentation’ – grouping ‘like’ travelers together – are vital to reach these consumers.

That’s why travel insights favorite, Left Travel, is plotting a new course, rebranding as TravelAI to better define how it serves the industry in the age of AI. “We needed a name that defined our focus and what we actually do: applying AI to ‘micro-segment’ travelers. Hyper-personalized options – that’s how the industry will serve the next billion travelers,” explains John Lyotier, CEO of TravelAI, an UpNext Company.

‘Micro-segmenting’ is the process of using data to divide customers into very niche groups. Providers can then tailor messaging and options to these ‘segments’ of travelers.

With this data-driven approach, TravelAI has facilitated more than US$1.5B in gross bookings, and six million nights booked since 2016. It works with online travel agencies (OTAs) including Expedia, VRBO, and Booking.com.

“By fusing AI and insight, we can streamline travel, leading to more positive, memorable experiences, and improving the travel industry’s image,” adds Lyotier.

TravelAI also offers consumer-facing brands such as Rent by Owner, Hotala, Pet-Friendly Accommodations, Bedroom Villas, and more. Each site was informed and created thanks to TravelAI’s data engine analysis.

“AI is about introducing efficiencies at scale, lowering the costs of travel and allowing more people to travel together, and travel better,” says Chris Jensen, co-founder and COO of TravelAI.

Travel industry experts predict the sector will grow at 5.8 percent annually, more than double the pace of the economy. In 2021, investors poured $11 billion into travel startups. “The appetite for travel is insatiable,” adds Jensen. “Harnessing AI’s efficacy and scalability to personalize travel experiences will be how the industry evolves.”

Ultimately, TravelAI aims to be the name behind personalized travel.

“Our distinctiveness lies in harnessing these tools to enhance travel experiences,” adds Lyotier. “And when they don’t exist, we build them. We’re not just about conceptual AI; we are about applying these groundbreaking technologies to craft better, more memorable travel experiences and more efficient delivery. Through optimizing efficiencies, we’ve realized a simple truth – better efficiency translates to better travel.”
