There is in excess of 93,000 hotel rooms in London and this is ever growing, Marriot Docklands is due to open in the next few months, Riverbank Park Plaza in the next few years. Baglioni’s luxury five star hotel has opened recently in Knightsbridge as did the Crowne Plaza the City. For a great value option there is the new Zetter Rooms and Restaurant in Clerkenwell, Travelodge Covent Garden and Guesthouse West in Notting Hill, all of which opened in the last few weeks. London also has a great variety of youth hostels and apartments for longer stays. London’s hotels refect the cities great history of architecture and design and you will find examples in London of almost any architectural period you can think of, from the wonderfully art Deco Claridge’s Hotel to Georgian and Victorian hotels and buildings.


Stock around east London in particular is growing fast. ExCel recently opened 1600 bedrooms on site. There are also over 17,000 university beds for lower budget events.



Also on the horizon is the Battersea Power Station development, the Radisson Edwardian’s extension at Heathrow which is to become Europe’s largest Meeting and Convention Hotel and the above mentioned purpose built international Convention Centre.



32,000 of London’s hotel rooms are rated as 4 star.
