Transavia France will launch flights between Tallinn and Paris

Paris is one of the highest-volume markets for Estonia in terms of passenger numbers, but one in which there is still room for growth in terms of actual connections. As such, the launch of this new route has been warmly welcomed.

Low-cost airline Transavia France will launch flights between Tallinn and Paris on 4 April 2024. The route will be served twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, from Paris Orly Airport.

“We’ve been holding negotiations with Transavia for a few years now, so we’re delighted that they’ll be flying from Tallinn next spring,” said Eero Pärgmäe, a member of the management board of Tallinn Airport. “Having another airline serving the route will not only mean more flights, but also cheaper tickets. And as a member of the Air France-KLM Group, Transavia will open the door to even broader-ranging cooperation.” Pärgmäe says the launch of Transavia flights is also good news for sports fans. “The summer Olympics in Paris next year will be a massive celebration of sport and culture,” he remarked.

Nicolas Hénin, the Chief Commercial Officer at Transavia France, says the airline is very pleased to be taking its first steps in Estonia. “This new route will offer our Parisian customers the chance to discover Tallinn,” he said. “We’re also looking forward to welcoming our first Estonian customers wishing to visit Paris. They’ll benefit from a low-cost, high-quality service to France.”

Rainer Aavik, the director of tourism at the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency, says that every new airline operating out of Tallinn is very welcome, since it opens up even more opportunities for travel. “Paris is one of the world’s greatest metropolises and attracts more tourists than any other, offering plenty to see and do year-round,” he said. “Of course, we hope these new flights are equally popular in both directions and that they attract French visitors to explore Estonia as well as serving the Estonian community in France.”
