FlipKey unveils second installment of Virtual Tours

Provides travelers with on-the-ground preview of popular vacation destinations and attractions.

BOSTON – FlipKey, a leading vacation rental marketplace, launched its second installment of its popular virtual tours, offering a preview of Miami Beach, Lake Tahoe, and Phoenix Metro. Providing travelers with an on-the-ground feel for each destination, the tours will help travelers decide where to book their next big vacation and what to do while they’re there.

“We launched the Virtual Tour series with Boston because it’s our hometown city, and it was a massive hit,” said Eric Horndahl, FlipKey’s Vice President of Marketing. “We chose Miami Beach and Lake Tahoe for this next installment because they’re high-demand locations for our travelers, so we already know these tours will offer a great preview. We also chose Phoenix Metro, because football fans across the country will be heading there for the Super Bowl next January and will likely want to get a feel for what the area has to offer before they arrive.”

For each location, the virtual walking tours allow travelers to explore six different areas by clicking on each landmark in the guide. Travelers looking to explore Miami can essentially “walk” down Collins Avenue or check out South Beach. Lake Tahoe’s guide offers an up-close feel for attractions such as popular Squaw Valley, and Phoenix provides an inside look at the stadium that will host next year’s Super Bowl.

Featuring nearly 30 things to do across four different destinations, the virtual tour series will further help travelers plan the best vacation based on things that matter to them. FlipKey currently has more than 2,700 rental properties in the Lake Tahoe area, nearly 2,000 in Miami, and more than 155 rental properties in Phoenix.
