The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced today that Marriott will award 100 free Congress registrations to Marriott Hotel Sales Specialists. ASTA`s World Travel Congress/ASTA`s Cruisefest East will be held in Miami on October 21-26.
ASTA is grateful to Marriott for their tremendous support of travel agents and their generous donation of 100 free Congress registrations, said ASTA 2003 World Congress Chair Mary Peters, CTC. Through Marriott`s contest, travel agents will be able to tell us in their own words why they value ASTA`s Congress and reinforce why industry conferences are so important for travel agents and suppliers alike.
Graduates of Marriott`s Hotel Excellence! who are certified as Hotel Sales Specialists (HSS) are eligible to receive one of 100 free registrations to ASTA`s 2003 World Travel Congress. To enter for a chance to win, eligible agents must describe the top five reasons they attend industry conferences such as ASTA`s Congress. Agents should send their contest response, name and HSS ID number to hotel.excellence@marriott.com. Contestants must list 2003 ASTA Contest in the subject line of their e-mail. The deadline is September 15. An independent panel will review entries and pick 100 winners.

The winners, who will be designated as Marriott VIPs by way of a red ribbon attached to their name tags, will be invited to an exclusive HSS cocktail reception in South Beach Miami. There agents will enjoy the warm tropical ocean breezes of Miami with their fellow HSSs and key Marriott associates. As a contest winner, each agent also will receive a $25 Marriott gift check by booking their Congress stay at one of Marriott`s properties in Miami (does not apply to reservations booked at the Fam-Tastic Rate).
Agents who already have paid the registration fee for this year`s Congress can still enter the contest. If they`re one of the 100 winners, they`ll be awarded a $200 Marriott gift card that can be used at any Marriott of their choice and they will be invited to the exclusive HSS cocktail reception.
