Arik Air, Nigeria’s leading domestic commercial airline, has carried its three millionth passenger – a particularly impressive tally considering it has been operating for less than three years.
In addition to this milestone, July was a record breaking month for the airline, as it carried the most passengers in a month since it started operations – 182,075 – and operated the greatest number of scheduled flights in a calendar month – 3,203.
The airline, which now operates daily long-haul flights from Lagos to London and Johannesburg, commenced domestic commercial flight operations on 30th October 2006 and has fast become the largest commercial airline carrier in Nigeria.
