Top travel destinations every tourist should visit at least once

Before embarking on your journey, you need to research your destination carefully.

There is a world of beautiful beaches, vibrant cities, epic mountain ranges, and delightful villages just waiting to be explored. Due to the pandemic, travel has been conspicuously absent from most of our lives recently. We suffered a collective sadness as global travel became fraught with difficulties and unattainable for many. Journeying was often taken for granted as a pastime that was so ingrained it would never be eradicated from our lifestyles. However, the new year brings new hope for renewed opportunities for travel worldwide. The appetite for new experiences, meeting new people, and seeing new places is now ready to be satisfied. The following are among the top destinations that will reignite your dormant wanderlust and provide you with some travel inspiration for your next destination.

Maasai Mara, Kenya
The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is one of the world’s most famous safari destinations. The protected park is vast and covers over 1500 square kilometers of savannah extending to the Serengeti plain in Tanzania. It provides an opportunity to view the famous big five animals (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo). The best times to visit are during the twice-yearly migrations, with the main one being in July and August. Over a million wildebeests cross the crocodile-infested Mara River to find new grazing grounds. Also, other spectacular destinations to visit in Kenya, such as the Great Rift Valley, runs through the country from north to south. Most visitors fly into Nairobi then either take small planes across the country or travel by road.

Pulau Merah, Java
Surfers always seem to be able to pick phenomenal destinations time after time in the pursuit of their hobby. Although surfers hunt the small, empty, tropical waves and long to remain off the beaten track, they also have the knack for discovering the most beautiful destinations in the world, and not just for surfing. Fringed with deserted idyllic stretches of sandy beaches and tropical reefs with the Javan jungle spilling onto its shores, the stunning island of Pulau Merah, or the Red Island, resembles true paradise. It is the best destination for the more intrepid traveler who prefers a rustic homestay to a five-star resort. However, some boutique hotels have started to appear on scenic islands. Apart from the beaches and waves that make it a great destination, there is also an abundance of Indonesian culture to enjoy.

The Grand Canyon, Arizona
The Grand Canyon is an incredible natural wonder whose sheer size and scope are hard to comprehend. With geology formed over the past 2 billion years, the 227 mile-long canyon is believed to have started around 5 to 6 million years ago. It was created by the flow of the Colorado River, which still flows through it and continues to erode the geology along its course. It is up to 18 miles wide in places and up to a mile deep. Ensure that you book event tickets in the USA in advance to avoid inconveniences. You can access the canyon via the historic Grand Canyon Railway, which runs out of Williams, Arizona. The 64-mile railroad provides an entertaining way to go to the canyon, with food and live music on board.

United Arab Emirates
Famous for its major cities such as Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the United Arab Emirates is one of the most searched destinations.  The UAE comprises seven emirate states, and their common selling point is that they all enjoy endless hours of winter sun, allowing even the most committed sunbathers to achieve their perfect bronzed look. Dubai is the most famous destination in the UAE and is renowned for its towering skyscrapers, gigantic shopping malls, and miles of sandy beaches. Did you know that the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, is located in the United Arab Emirates? It is difficult to imagine that what was not so long ago a sea of endless dunes and crumbling forts is now a traveler’s delight.

The Maldives
The Maldives is the perfect escape destination for travelers seeking to escape to paradise. It is one of the few places in the world where the multitude of photographs never does it justice. There is simply no place on the globe that is more tranquil and romantic. It has firmly established among the world’s top surfing, diving, and paddle-boarding destinations. Also, the Maldives is one of the few places where everyone can snorkel amongst some of the most colorful sea creatures safely and just yards from your resort. There are many new luxury resorts opening, and the level of quality and service is second to none.
