Most successful year yet for managing IBCS and IT services

AVIAREPS pleased with 2008 results

AVIAREPS, the world’s leading representation company, looks back on events in 2008 with satisfaction. The past months have been dominated by expansion of the company’s service portfolio in order to better cater for the growing requirements of customers in the aviation and tourism branch. Michael Gaebler, Chairman and CEO of AVIAREPS, calls the double-digit growth rates in IBCS management and in IP VPN and CRS connectivity IT services and desktop support services particularly gratifying.

“The IATA BSP Consolidator System (IBCS) is enjoying ever greater popularity. Especially for airlines with relatively low ticket sales in one or more markets, this significantly cheaper method of accessing BSP has proven attractive. Here AVIAREPS acts as a consolidator and ensures the airline is accepted into the IBCS bill settlement plan with no complications or obstructions,” explains Michael Gaebler.

Moreover, the current order situation at AVIANET – an offshoot of AVIAREPS that specialises in IT matters – suggests an increased need for IP VPN, CRS connectivity and desktop support services. IP VPN and CRS connectivity enable an airline to set up, maintain and update its reservation system from any location using a global VPN network. The desktop support service provides the customer with rapid assistance should technical problems with software or hardware arise.

Despite the continuing global financial crisis, Mr. Gaebler looks to the coming year with confidence: “This is not the first rough period the aviation and tourism industry has had to endure. Our solution is a flexible business model: AVIAREPS customers not only choose the number of services they would like, they also decide to what extent the services will be implemented. Furthermore, in 2009 we will work hard to further expand our service portfolio for the benefit of our customers.”
