Hotel Granvia becomes a reference in Barcelona following its reopening

The city centre establishment opened its doors again in summer, after a complete renovation of its interior.

BARCELONA – Hotel Granvia in Barcelona from Nunez i Navarro Hotels’ collection, has become an establishment of reference in the city after it reopened its doors following six months of laborious refurbishment work. Located right in the heart of the city, the hotel offers a modern image together with innovative services and amenities in the historic surroundings of a former 19th-century palace.

These first few months of the hotel’s new, revamped look were enough to position it among the best accommodation options in Barcelona. In fact, over half the users of popular travel portal Tripadvisor rated it as unbeatable, earning it the Certificate of Excellence 2013, awarded to exceptional companies in the hospitality industry that have received great reviews from travellers.

The hotel’s comprehensive renovation and redecoration has given it a new image in line with the latest trends, offering a totally modern and welcoming look without losing its historical essence. In addition, have been incorporated functional trends that allow it to adapt to the needs and characteristics of an actual urban hotel, as technology and connectivity.

The hotel is housed in an old palace from the Catalan bourgeoisie, built in 1870. Was in 1935 when the building became a hotel, after a major refurbishment which preserved the main elements of the palace: facade, central staircase and Ballroom. During the 20th century, Hotel Granvia was an icon of Barcelona, having among its notable residents actors, politicians and many VIPS guests. With its recent reform, the hotel is reliving a second golden age, maintaining the quality, uniqueness and distinction that characterised it in the past.

The three stars hotel has 58 rooms in six different categories: basic, classic, superior, deluxe, JR suite and family rooms. Each room is unique and singular due to the building’s historic past and all of them have air conditioning, free wireless internet, LCD TV, mini bar and safe, among other services and amenities to ensure an excellent stay. Because of its cared design, unbeatable location and excellent service, this hotel will appeal travellers who, for leisure or business, are visiting the city.
