Due to the high data set, deviations from five points on the scale represent a large qualitative difference. The extensive database has been created through cooperations with other online hotel review sites. trivago integrates hotel reviews from websites such as, tripadvisor, Holidaycheck and Booking.com. Hotel reviews on trivago are shown on a scale from 1 to 100. In a review apart from an overall rating, extra ratings can be given for specifics, such as the room amenities, food and drinks, as well as the location. The reputation ranking closes the existing gap in the analysis of online hotel reviews. An increasing amount of touristic web content is generated by active Internet users.
